Recently, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People's Republic of China and the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration jointly issued the "Heavy Duty Diesel Vehicle Emission Limits and Measurement Methods (China's Sixth Stage)" (commonly known as the "Sixth Stage") announcement.
The release of this announcement means that all heavy-duty diesel vehicles in the future will implement the national six emission standards within the specified time point! This standard will be implemented from July 1, 2019.
The newly released "Limits and Measurement Methods for Pollutant Emissions from Heavy Duty Diesel Vehicles (China's Phase VI)" strictly limits the implementation time point of the national emission standards.
The standard stipulates: "From the date of publication of this standard, type inspections can be carried out according to this standard." That is to say, the inspection agency and truck manufacturer have established the national inspection and production standards for trucks in compliance with the requirements of the 6th national standard.
For different vehicle types, the "Heavy Duty Diesel Vehicle Emission Limits and Measurement Methods (China's Sixth Stage)" standard is roughly divided into three stages.
● Phase 1
National emission standards, gas vehicles take the lead.
This standard stipulates: "From July 1, 2019, all gas vehicles produced, imported, sold, and registered shall comply with the requirements of this standard."
Regardless of whether it is a CNG model or a LNG model, all gas vehicles will implement the national emission standards after July 1, 2019!
● Phase 2
This standard stipulates: "From July 1, 2020, all urban vehicles produced, imported, sold, and registered shall comply with the requirements of this standard."
In order to protect the urban environment and create a better living environment for residents, urban vehicles such as buses and sanitation vehicles operating in the city should also meet the national emission standards after July 1, 2020.
● Phase 3
This standard stipulates: "From July 1, 2021, all heavy duty diesel vehicles produced, imported, sold, and registered shall comply with the requirements of this standard."
In other words, on July 1, 2021, all heavy-duty diesel vehicles across the country, such as heavy semi trailer tractors, trucks, and dump trucks that we commonly see on the road, will comply with the national emission standards.
As a heavy duty diesel vehicle with a large inventory, the country has provided a three-year buffer period. A three-year buffer period can give car companies and users sufficient time to adjust and adapt.
In addition, the standard also stipulates that "since the date of publication of this standard, all relevant local standards will be invalidated or invalid." This provision means that local standards such as Beijing Tejing 5 will be invalidated, and the emission standards of the "Heavy Duty Diesel Vehicle Emission Limits and Measurement Methods (China's Phase VI)" will be fully implemented.
Only one year after the implementation of the National Five Emission Standards for heavy-duty diesel vehicles last year, the National Six Emission Standards for heavy-duty diesel vehicles have come one after another. We can see that the country attaches great importance to the protection of the ecological environment. The release and implementation of the national six standards for heavy-duty diesel vehicles will greatly help protect the environment. At the same time, the truck industry will also usher in a huge industrial upgrade.
