Automatic clutch

The function of using automatic clutches for electric heavy trucks is mainly reflected in the following aspects:

The first is heavy truck vehicles, especially those in the engineering operation area (including waste trucks) and mining areas. Due to poor road conditions, the reverse impact transmitted from the road surface through the wheels is relatively large. The clutch can eliminate the reverse impact from the road surface through the torsion action of the torsion spring, filtering out the pulse impact on the entire power chain such as the rear axle, transmission, motor, electronic control, and battery, effectively protecting the rear axle, transmission, motor, and electronic control, The battery greatly improves the reliability and service life of the power system and the three electric systems, ensuring that the battery is not subject to the impact of peak currents, which is equivalent to adding a "fuse" to the power chain.

The second is that during the driving process of the entire vehicle, there is no direct connection scheme with a clutch. Due to the rapid torque response of the motor (10 times the engine torque response speed), torque pulse impacts can cause early tire wear and rear axle damage. The clutch can effectively protect the tire and rear axle.

Third, in mining areas or places with many undulating slopes, when heavy trucks are parked due to traffic flow during climbing on the slope, if there is no clutch, the direct connection scheme between the motor and the transmission will cause the transmission to not be able to take off gear, and only to slide down and then re engage in low gear to start. This operation is not allowed and there are greater risks. With a power system with a clutch, it is easy to engage in low gear and start in place by releasing the clutch, Meet the actual requirements of extreme operating conditions. The fourth is the direct connection scheme between the motor and the transmission. During the transmission shift process, there is a risk of impact failure between the outer spline of the motor and the inner spline of the transmission shaft. As the speed response of the motor is much higher than that of the engine during the transmission shift process, the impact on the spline is large. At the same time, the direct connection between the motor and the transmission shaft increases the speed regulation inertia and also increases the impact during the shift speed regulation process. Therefore, the spline failure of the direct connection scheme is inevitable, Using the clutch scheme, the clutch is disengaged during the shift process, and the motor is separated from the transmission. There is no spline impact failure during the shift process.

The biggest advantage of an automatic clutch is that the clutch is a flexible connection, which is equivalent to adding a fuse to the power system to insulate the power battery from pulse impact damage caused by wheel impact. Generally, when the power battery is subjected to pulse impact, the impact on electronic components and cells is obvious.

Emic main and auxiliary gearbox structure: large speed ratio transmission+automatic clutch power system. The system has high reliability, good stability, and strong adaptability to operating conditions. Since mass production and delivery in 2018, it has achieved excellent quality assurance with a "0" failure rate, which can adapt to multiple operating conditions such as heavy load, climbing, and high-speed, and is suitable for the market driven product demand of electric heavy trucks.
